Throughout our lives, we document personal memories with family using photos, videos, notes, cards, diaries, etc. Photographs and memorabilia are often preserved for generations. We create a chronicle of life events to reflect on and learn from.
Similar to our private lives, our medical training and professional careers are primarily defined by our experiences, specifically, our operative experiences. Unfortunately, saving professional memories is more challenging than chronicling our personal lives. For many surgeons, these memories remain undocumented and are often forgotten. This is mainly due to fragmented electronic medical records built for patients, not surgeons. Many rely on disorganized systems not built for recounting cases, such as notebooks with patient stickers, handwritten notes, printed documents, spreadsheets, etc. Ultimately, many surgeons find the status quo time-consuming, inefficient, and easily misplaced. Because recalling our operative experiences make us better surgeons, it is essential to document these memories for future review.
At Casect, we are changing the status quo. Our platform is built by surgeons to provide an easy and effective way to chronicle cases. We aim to provide a simple and safe way for surgeons to store cases, refine techniques, collaborate with colleagues, and learn from past operative experiences.
